Removing the baffles that exist inside the WS6 hood between the nostrils and the opening that flows into the airbox. Not the ones in the stock lid. http://www.geocities.com/brian98ramair/Baffle.html

My bad, I was thinking of my 99 TA (none WS6) I actually went out and looked at the Ram-Air tonight pretty closely tonight and know that I was off. Samsonite... i was way off I think I may give this a try, but promised that I wouldn't touch the WS6 until I get done the 99....

I modified my hood to work with the air-box and made a perfect seal between the two. You can actually see part of it in my sig.

What weatherstripping do you guys that seal your hood use? I found some but it looks like some cheap *** foam **** that will break off.

Here's my $25 Lowes setup. I removed the rear baffle, but the front can be seen in this pic:

is this setup "supposedly" better than the original ftra? or is this just something different?

The FTRA blocks some airflow in front of the radiator, whereas the new JAAM system does not, and you also don't have to hack up your car to use it.

The JAAM system draws fresh air from the hood, not from in front of the radiator where it gets hotter air in slow traffic and stopped, so IATs should be a bit lower in traffic, which should help in off the line power around town due to more optimal spark advance and fuel mix. The FTRA has to be moving a bit to get the IATs back down. So far as highway speeds, I'd expect them to be comparable. Questions have been put to Fast Toys, and requests for IAT and performance comparisons too.

Will the JAAM system outperform the FTRA? Probably not, but it should perform at least equal to it. The JAAM system is great for WS6 people who want a clean CAI setup, without hacking on their car. The advantages of it are not blocking any radiator flow, maintaining more of a 'stock' look, cooler IATs stopped/in traffic, and not hacking the car over the FTRA.
