Oh god. Here comes The One True Definition of Cold Air Intake and the One True Definition of Ram Air crowd ready for a fight!

Anyway, CAI or whatever you want to call it is just a intake lid on these cars. Looks like a vacuum cleaner head. Buy them at every sponsor.

My CAI is a duct that shoots down in front of the AC condensor,,,,dosnt look like a vaccumm, it looks like a piece of duct work,,it goes in underneith the lid
sorry my spelling sux azz

I got mine from SLP, there was to be some cutting, but i just removed the condenser cover and left it out

^^Yours is like the FTRA system. The other guy was talking bout an airbox lid. Yours would probably work better with a lid. The lid does look like a vacuum cleaner attachment.

And the cutting that needs to be done only involves taking out a piece of plastic, marking it with a pencil where the directions say, and cutting plastic with something like a hacksaw blade. It's really no big deal. I had one on my previous bird and I liked it.

There are as many opinions as to the "right" CAI to get as there are kinds to get. There is probably going to be a bunch of advice on here in a few days.

i have the slp full cold air package that comes with a lid and cold air duct(goes down under the intake setup).... not just a lid(vacuum cleaner lookin thing)......

im not sure what the performance differences are.... i would imagine the cold air is a little better..... but is clearly more expensive

im going to post a thread in externals on the performance differences between the cold air and lid only setups.... just check it out to get a better idea on what you wanna do
