Gmmg Chambered Exhaust
I was looking for an exhaust system and i was gonna ask if any person here has a gmmg in there f-body the price is $700+ for a system and do you think its worth it to spend that much on a system or are you just buying the name. ps they do look sick

They are good, but I don't think $700+ good. Not THAT many people have them for being from GMMG. I would go look for something else, I have a Flowwmaster with corsa tips I bought for $150 and I think it puts out a more muscular sound than the GMMG. The GMMG is very loud and raspy with LT's/ORY.
You are right though, it looks badass.

I've never heard it in person, but GMMG sounds great, IMO. But, it costs way too much. For 300 more, you could get Pacesetters and the TSP True Duels. I figured I'd switch from GMMG to true duels eventually anyway, so that's why I chose that road.
If you want to go the LT's, y-pipe, and catback way though, IMO the GMMG cat back sounds the best. I've heard you need cats though. ORY's seem to make the GMMG a little raspy.
But again, I haven't heard many exhausts in person. So choose what you think sounds best. It's your car that you'll have to hear everyday.

I'm also researching catbacks... where does the SLP Loudmouth fit in with these other exhausts mentioned? The price is decent (under $400)... how's the sound and performance? Would I be better off with something like the Magnaflow?

1. GMMG is priced as a high end catback, and is for those who don't mind paying top dollar for top quality. It's not something you find on a self at autozone. Basic chambered tube style muffler. They give a deep rumble, everyone refers them as old school sounding setups if you can imagine such. Most people who run them keep the converters which makes a gmmg give a better tone.

clip of gmmg on stock manifolds and cats... Click here to see Video
2. Referring to your ? on the SLP LM. This catback is considered one of the louder setups available. Price is decent b/c it is a small resonator. Sound and Performance, it is loud and raw, majority of people prefer to run them with converts otherwise a heavy amount of rasp and drone is induced, very unrefined. This catback performs great, flows well, and will give the gains you want.
here's a startup clip of an SLP Loudmouth on an otherwise stock LS2 gto Click here to see Video
And here's the LM1 on LT's, ORY Click here to see Video
3. The Magnaflow catback. This is full length muffler with a straight through design(besides fiberglass packing), stainless system. Priced in the 400-500 dollar region. The tone is smooth and "bubbly" and is considered average as far as decibels are concerned. Alot of people run this catback with full exhaust and don't have to worry about being obnoxiousy loud unlike the SLP LM. The price is good for a stainless system, and does not hold back power for being a full length muffler. Popular choice.
Here is my car running a magaflow catback - Click here to see Video
and another car running a magnaflow on lts, and ory, just like my car, sounds similar. Click here to see Video
The question is, what kind of sound are you looking for? Are you planning your exhaust to be ran with headers, aftermarket y-pipe, with perhaps a cam? keeping it otherwise stock? We need some more info and what you want otherwise people are going to be throwing at you what THEY like, and not what you necassarily need.
hope this helps,
Rob

I have the LM1 and it is raw. Very loud and the drone isnt bad if you have your tips set just about a half inch past the bumper. If they are behind the bumper you will get alot of noise inside the car. If you wanna know about the GMMG with LT's, ORY and a MS3 pm DemonSS. He is a friend of mine who has it and he can probably tell you more about it. His is VERY loud! heres a vid of it running. His wife's vert is stock with the GMMG and its running too but you cant hear it over his.

why not true duals? i'm getting my h-pipe with two flowmaster 1-chambers installed tomarrow. i'll still have stock manifolds and cats for a little while until i can get some LT headers. but before i decided on a TD setup, i had my mind set on a gmmg cat-back. and its going to cost me $500 for my set-up. plus headers which are going to be about 450.

I have a gmmg with American Racing longtubes and a catted y pipe.
Love the sound. Its quiet enough where you can still have a conversation inside the car and when you open up the throttle its loud and sounds badass.
Even though I have a catted y pipe it still has a little rasp around 2200-2500 rpm's but its not bad.
