Default ws6 cam swap suggestions

looking to do a cam swap and some headers for my 2000 ws6 6 speed. i've been looking at the gm hot cam for ls1. how is this cam, and what hp gain would i expect from one? does it have a nice sounding lope? i'm not looking for anything to radical. just enough lope to tell there is a bigger cam in it and a little more power. i only have a k&n air filter and an open exhaust from stock cats back.

there are better cams out there.

one of the best mild cams on the market is the TR224 cam. should yeild about 385rwhp on a good tune with boltons.

the next step up would the the 228 cam....you'll have to search for the comapny...i forget.

both are very mild mannered on the street and make good power for the street.

that depends on how you want it to idle.

114 should idle a bit smoother

112 should make peak power a little sooner

really isn't a huge difference. most people probably wouldn't even notice.

hotcam wont sound very different from what youve already gotten, its got a pretty high LSA. the tr224 is one of hte better ones, while another one to consider is the tr230. its reverse split for stock heads and has a 111lsa, so lope is great, thats the way im going

Do a search for the cam in my sig.

224/228 duration .581/.588 lift 114 lsa.

My car is a daily driver and has superb street manners (in my opinion). This cam made great power with very conservative tunning. It lacks a little in low end torque (but that is somewhat on par with a mild cam and stock heads) but pulls like a train from 3500-6000+ rpm
