Pitbull,
I have "just" a flowmaster 80 series. I have it on for "cheap" sound. I bought the muffler within 12 hours of owning the car. Now that I have time to do my research on what exhaust setup I want to do plus I got the "cheap" sound to. Plus I can always take it off and sell it for a few bucks.

so sounds great, and excellent price? LT1s sound alot different from LS1s i noticed. Thats why i like the flowmaster because it seems to sound deep compared to others, but i also dont want to get pulled over by the cops so i dont want it to be that loud, just good sounding, louder then stock. thanks.

The previous owner of my car put in just a Flowmaster muffler and left everything else stock. The sound is very rumbly and quite loud. It's sounds nice, but even driving around town at 2000 rpms, it drones a bit.

anyone no whats a good price for them i seen them for like $300 bucks on jegs but i figured, since everyone considers them one of the worst flowing catbacks, you would think there should be some deals on them . I dont care how it flows, just want the sound.

i have heard a million flowmasters, on trucks, cars, dumped, singles, duals. had a 40 series with a single 3 inch exit on my 86 TPI iroc. it sounded mean as hell. through all of it and after reading this i did realize that they do drone a little. it has never been enough to bother me personally though. i just put a 40 series delta flow on my wife's 06 durango about a week ago and have gotten nothing but compliments. it does sound good i will admit, although tame compared to mine. but mine is raspy and clatters (no cats) between 2K and 3K and hers doesn't. and i will also say a carbuerated 350 cammed with dual flowmasters dumped midway sitting there idling and loping is the best sound these ears have ever heard.

My brother and a good buddy have Flowmaster catbacks. They sound really good. You won't be disappointed with the sound, even if you just get the muffler. Just go for it.

Flowmaster gets a bad rap. Bottom line is, they are inexpensive, sound better than stock, and actually do free-up some horsepower. Now, I know that there are other catbacks that can free-up horsepower, such as Magnaflow, Corsa, and GMMG. But, those cost 2-3 times what a Flowmaster American Thunder system costs.

I actually like the Flowmaster sound. Especially on old school muscle:

My 1980 has a very similiar sound, but not as nasty. I need to upgrade to 3" with two-chamber flows!!! That GTO sounds awesome!

I just took off my Flowmaster and replaced it with a Magnaflow 3" inlet 2 1/2 outlets. No drone no rattles and it sounds better I think. Also it seems to breathe a little better at higher RPMs.
