Neither is better.

It's the same car, just different skin. This has been covered 1000 times or more, try a search.

It's all about opinion in terms of appearance, nobody is right or wrong on that one - just buy whichever you like the looks of better.

But if you actually find someone that tells you that a Camaro is better car than a same year Trans Am, or that a Trans Am is better car than a same year Camaro, I would instantly disreguard their opinion; they are either stupid or just ignorant.

If you want a drag car, the Grand National is the best way to go. Boost is fun

They also made regular regals with the 3.8 turbo V6. They came in all kinds of colors, options included, velour pillow topped bench seat, column shift, and a padded vinyl roof. Although most of the turbo regals had the t-type package(mag rims, buckets with console shift, blacked out trim, metal roof, choice of paint and interior color).

Avoid cars with t-tops or a sunroof, they weaken an already weak body structure and leak.

go for the Z06 which is the lighter car,but also make sure to find the SS or WS6 in either the 01-02 years it has the better heads and LS6 intake(kind of like a Cobra or GT40 on the 5.0 motor's) I do believe the Camaro's are lighter then the T/A's but just a little but I got my WS6 cause' they just look alot better to my eyes! Good luck and post up whatever you buy!

As a driver you cannot beat an FRC Vette. Good price, light weight, very solid, and fun to drive

I would go with the vette. I had a chance to buy a vette but i didn't what to put out $8000 more. Vette has more room for mods the engine bay isn't that crowded and less weight , better aero, wider wheels etc.

Check the dyno section here and see what numbers people are getting. The answer to this obviously depends on the cam, but you can get some pretty solid numbers without losing any daily driveability with this engine. It all depends on what you are wanting the car to do. I do highly recommend looking around here a bit though.

Also, welcome to the site!

Yeah I was just messing with you I thought about a 93 GT one time with a LS1 myself. I like most all cars except for the ones riced out. I even like the rice burners if there fast and don't look stupid. Good luck with your choice.

Welcome to the site. I would go with the ws6 without a doubt. I love SS's and vettes but the ws6 are badass and hell you might never see another one built so I would go with that. Bolt-ons and a cam with get you some nice numbers and if you ever decide to boost it your world will never be the same.

Here are my options:

Camaro SS
Trans AM WS6 or firebird, firehawk.
Corvette Z06
Grand National

I know that the Z06 is a bit expensive but they look great and I already know that they are awsome fast as cars.

But which LS1 equiped car is lighter & better? the camaro ss or Trans Am?

if you plan on modding it heavily, get a 99-00 FRC corvette instead of a Z06. you'll save a ton of money

FRC = Fixed Roof Coupe

Hardtop for lack of a better term

The Z06s had them standard but they are somewhat rarer on regular C5 vettes
