Yep there are alot of cars making well over 500 & Some north of 600 on stock bottom ends in the cf forum ,I see more there in the FI forum than i do here @ Ls1 tech but it is still an Ls1 Some that i have seen North of 600 rwhp on stock bottom ends were Sc'd Ls6 stock internals, ,chriwstx made 620rwhp with his stockblock stock internals ,hes also is in a sc vette ,same as mine ,same fi as mine also ,so it depends on how u treat them ,same way with a fuel pump ,u want the pump to last ?,dont run it wot with less than 1/4 tank & i bet u it will last longer than the ones that people run @ wot on near empty ,Also alot of the SC stock Internal motors are running meth

FRC's were built in 99-00. They turned into the Z06 in 2001 when the put the brake ducts and the ls6 motor in them. FRC's are slightly less weight then a coupe or convertible and are generally a less optioned car.

But I also know that plenty of people have blown stock bottem end motors at 500+ rwhp. I'm not discounting the people who have had success. I'm just saying you can't ignore the people who havn't. Most people making over 500 rwhp are also spinning 6700+ rpm redlines and do a lot of racing.
IMO once you start making that kind of power, spin high redlines and race on a regular basis then motor survival is a crap shoot. You may be a lucky one but you may also be another guy posting a new thread in the stock internal section with a title along the lines of:
"Blew number 7 piston over the weekend should I go forged 346 or stroker?"

WOW thats good power for a bottom end to hold. I know that when I had the mach 1, their motors wouldnt hold more then 500hp unles you changed you bottom end for something stronger. What the pistons made from & whats their compression ratio?
You guys are great with info & help. Thanks alot. My buddys are rite, this form is great & friendly. Unlike Mach1Registry.com, nothing but ******** with their heads stuck in their *** of the other guys ***.

I use to own a 03 Mach 1 and now I have an 03 Cobra. But I am looking foward to expand my taste. I never hated GM, I always loved the T/A, Camaros, the Vettes & grand nationals.
I am doing a research before my next car buy.
Here are my options:
Camaro SS
Trans AM WS6 or firebird, firehawk.
Corvette Z06
Grand National
I know that the Z06 is a bit expensive but they look great and I already know that they are awsome fast as cars.
But which LS1 equiped car is lighter & better? the camaro ss or Trans Am?

I currently own a 2002 Camaro SS LE which is a fun car from the factory. Its my third LS1 Car Ive owned, 5th LS Engine Ive owned(also owned a 99 & 02 Silverado). I couldnt picture myself without an LS Based engine car.
I also own a 90 Firebird with a Grand National Powertrain sitting under it. It sounds like a V6, feels like a V6 and pulls faster than Dodge Vipers!! Mine has been modded of course. If your looking to mod, the LS1 would definately be a better choice to start with.
I personally would opt for a low mile C5 Vette and put a healthy cam and head setup on it. Good luck in your search
