Thats a nice NHRA, i wish i had one...I dusted i stage 2 S R T 4 when i was stock, just get your launching down, those front wheel drives can launch a hell of a lot better than we can....but you usually pass them in 2nd, just make sure when you race him with your window is down, so when you pass him yell "LS1!!!"

what I meant was its sure a hell of a lot easier to launch a S R T 4 than a f-body. They can pretty much dump the clutch all the way and take off, we have to feel for it and find our cars sweet spot to have a good launch

Do you know any guys with those cars? Because thats not the case, and thats why they always want to go from a 40mph roll.

RWD > FWD in any kind of race form.....period. Drag race, road race, everything.

Peace,
Craig.

He must have NOSed it. Any gear lower and he would have blown the welds on the intake.

Yeah, one of my best friends has a yellow one, i always tease him how easy it is to launch his, its pretty much stock though. +1, they do always want to go from a roll because their turbo lag is gone

First of all I'm a newbie to the ls1 world but have owned a SRT-4 for 2 years now. You guys are a little off on why the SRT-4s have a hard time launching. First of all there is no turbo lag on these cars, that is the problem, the power pours on fast and hard and the front tires spin with full boost in 1st gear and sometimes 2nd gear (so we have to stay at partial throttle/no boost). Also wheel hop can be horrible on mostly stock suspension cars. We have to get the car moving to aid in traction, otherwise we can't go into full boost without tire spin until a higher mph. So racing someone from a stand still will result in lack luster speed or tire spin.

That being said I'm looking at getting a camaro soon, got to love the rwd :-)

Ok, back on topic. I have a TR224/224 .563 112LSA. This is my daily driver. With the mods in sig (bolt ons), my car is making 387rwhp and 379rwtq. Great cam IMO!

Is there a maint req on that valvesprings?
I'm also looking for a DD cam that will give a good amount of H/p and no maint req.
