A LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1...

I tossed on the LS6 intake onto my car and came close to the numbers of a stock 02 car's dyno numbers. If I had the same exhaust manifolds we'd be dead even and if I went back to the lighter LS1 clutch (I had a LS7 by that time), I probably would have had an edge in HP and torque due to the T-56 and his car being auto.

Hey The Myth
Try the sticky that is Titled (JRP's FAQ For Commonly Asked Questions )
Read all of it
Post #10 will have your answers
Here is some of it

THE FBODY IS UNDERATED, YES, YOU READ RIGHT. THOSE ADVERTISED NUMBERS THAT GM QUOTES ARE BULL****. WHY GM UNDERTATED THE LS1 IN THE FBODY WE'LL NEVER KNOW FOR SURE BUT THE FACT IS THEY DID. AN LS1 IN THE FBODY WILL DYNO ANYWHERE FROM 270RWHP TO 320RWHP DEPENDING ON YEAR, TRANNY, AND OPTIONS (SS/'HAWK OR SLP OPTIONS).

I REPEAT AGAIN THE 98-02 CARS ARE UNDERATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if i see a thread asking if the ls1's are underated im going to lock it and refer you here.

What actually gives the WS6 cars the extra 15 or whatever HP rating over the standard T/A?? Is it internal engine, the PCM, or external parts?? Or just the Ram Air?
I apologize if this information is aready here, I just didn't see in my search.
Thanks.

He didnt ask about block HP and the sticky will help him more.

A WS6 package produces more HP at high speeds of 60 or greater because air is being forced in the intake through the box as opposed to just "flowing in"

At rest on a dyno they produce the same HP. I've seen a Ram Air Trans Am beat a "regular" one by 3/4 of a car before. Exact same set ups. So in short a WS6 T/A produces more HP while moving at high speeds while they produce the same at rest.

I did a search on it about my car which is a 02 WS6 and it states that I get about 15hp more beacuse of the LS6 intake on it..thats what seperates it from the TA and the 98-00 models... thats just my two cents

The engine has no additional mods to it, it makes the same power as an regular TransAm. The only difference is the RamAir, a more free-flowing exhaust and some suspension mods.

Aww, and I spent 15K on my f**king H/C package. What if i put a corvette hood on there. What would that be worth??? What about nos stickers. Do you actually have to have the nitrous system, or will the stickers do the trick? After that i am gonna get pedals, and paint my break calipers. Then, i am gonna get a body kit. That outta be just like the fast and the furous. The thing outta dyno like 760 and run 9s in the 1/4. Then, just for the hell of it, i will get EURO tail lights and neon light kit for under the car. Or I could just use the search button like everyone else and save bandwidth. All jokes aside, they are my WS6 is the same as a regular TA. That is until i press the super ram air button. But i wont tell you where it is. Youll have to do a search to find that out.

ALL 01-02 LS1 cars have the LS6 intake.

There is no real HP difference between a WS6 and a Trans Am of the same year. The end.
