Unhappy Door Lock Problem????

Well my passenger door has a problem: The actual "lock" that u would slide a key into is bobbing in and out, and is on the verge of falling of. This is wierd because I never use it and it doesnt ever get slammed. Is there any way i can bolt this thing back down? Also, i recall normally closing the door the other day and hearing something drop, but then not seeing anything Any advice is really appreciated!

have you tried taking the door panel off and inspecting the lock from the inside, maybe the part that dropped is at the bottom of the door panel

what you heard drop was a 1"x1" metal clip that holds the lock in the door. take the door panal off look inside and find the clip, prolly will have to bend it if it fell out like that or who knows maybe not and put it back on. GL

+1 for removing the door panel.

just check to see if anything really did fall off. i believe the lock is held on by a large, thin nut around the whole lock cylinder (i can be wrong)
