Default after the mods..

I'm sending the ride in soon for some goodies...looking for estimates on

what these mods will offer up power wise. I've seen 395 rwhp w/longtubes

unfortunately LT's are not in the budget now. This is what the car will
have.

already has ls6 intake new additions are , cam 218/227 525/525 112lsa lid,ported tb.
new timing chain,underdrive pulley,tb bypass,yank3000 converter.

and Dynotune. rwhp??

w/o longtubes i'd be surprised if it was over 350.

if you added a cam and ls6 intake without headers, you're choking your engine to death man... you need headers desperately. in fact, you should have got headers b4 the cam for sure.. anyway, you'll make around 360 if i had to guess

It already had the intake stock, I was told how restrictive it may be
however the cam is relatively small...not alot bigger than stock, but it was
free. We were going to add the underdrive to offset problem.

Still new to the LS1 game so any suggestions are welcome.

certainly don't want to choke the old girl she's sitting at 121,000

it is a small cam, that's why the #'s won't be overwhelming but you're looking at a lot more intake than you had stock and not enough exhaust to compensate. That's where your problem lies. DEFINITELY get headers, y, and a cat-back for your next mod. That will put you where you need to be

I agree with sunset it will probably be in the neighborhood of 350 to 360. Could be wrong though, have before. I would get longtubes first before installing the cam, and remove the cats then tune it. I would also go to installuniversity.com and print up the install instructions for a cam, and do it yourself. Its very easy and you could put the money saved towards the headers. Just use a holding tool or big bolt for leverage on the cam so you dont put any nicks or dings on your cam bearings. And go in and out with it very carefully and slowly, supporting it with your other hand and the bolt or tool to take the weight off, and to keep it perfectly straight. Its very easy you can do it and you need to learn to wrench for yourself, then you know it was done right and have full knowledge and control of everything. I will not let anyone touch my stuff period. Boone

Update.. I've come to the sensible compromise for now..

The car has new ngk's msd plugwires, all oils and fluids changed.
New longtubes and cattted y on the way,a yank 3000 and will have
the throttle body ported ,It already has ls6 intake and lid. and will be
dynotuned after.

Obviously not going to reach the desired rwhp yet...
Any guess on what it will reach as far as rwhp???
Anyone with similar setup chime in..

unfortunately..this is without cam, gonna have to wait a bit on the cam.

went ahead and bought LT's and stall and going that way first instead
of cam first.

early predictions are 315-325 I'm hoping it's a bit more stout than that.

It's basically stock except for a lid ..and it came with ls6 intake.
just adding LT's and catted y ,3000 stall and porting TB rightnow...until i can afford
the cam install...

like I said anyone with a similar setup chime in..

come on people..plenty of views somebody can't guestimate.

I know there is a bunch of people out there that had this or a real similiar
setup,prior to their 600hp beast.

went to work this morning, hoping to have a few stabs at it.......none

and I've searched all over the place seen some similar ,but slighly different.

2002 b4c with ls6 intake,lid,3000stall,ported TB,and longtubes and dynotuned.

have not had it dynoed..hoping it's putting down at least 300ish now..

anyone with similar set up...share your experiences and opinions.

I think you made the right move getting headers and stall first. It will be a hell of a lot more fun to drive. It could put down anywhere from 330-350 rwhp depending on the dyno.

It depends on how much your car is puting down before all the mods.
