Default Plug wires

I have a 98 TA. Car has around 136K on it. Engine has been gone through, but I'm pretty sure the plug wires are stock. Should I go ahead and replace them? Idle is a tad rough (even for having a cam) I'm running NGK TR6's installed about 1200K ago.

Also, should I go back to ACDelco's or go with MSD? The freakin ac's are $98 bucks and I get the MSD's for $60.

TR6's are a little cold for a NA car. Thats more for a N20 Car. TR5's (TR55s) are what you should be running. Seen 3whp by switching from ACDelcos to Crane Fire Wires. I didn't believe my friend who's also my tuner when he said they'd make a difference. The Delcos were about 11K old at the time. We put the car on the dyno and did 2 pulls with the Delcos, swapped in the Crane wires with it still hot and gained around 3whp on both pulls.

I'd change them and MSD are good I just bought a set myself they are so short that from one brand to the next it dosent make a diffrence but they do wear out and after that many miles I'd say your over due.

I put the TR6's in when I installed the new springs b/c I'm planning on adding the juice here in the next month.

I asked about the ac's vs. the msd's b/c I've heard some people strongly say to stay with ac's and others say the msd's are just fine. Looks like I'll put the msd's on it.

I just went through this with 99k miles. I broke 3 wires pulling them off for the header install - the boot had turned crusty white. My car had all original AC Delco spark plugs and the electrode was so worn they were gapped .068! I put in NGK TR55 plugs and AdvanceAuto had AutoLite plug wires that matched the stockers exactly - color, length, materials and all - for $38. The car idles so smooth now I can hardly believe the difference.

I just ordered a set of MSD's the other night. Good price, 61 bucks from the WS6 Store.

(I gotta give them props...I placed the order at 11:30pm Sunday night, 6:30am Monday I had an email from them giving me the tracking number. Now THAT's quick service!))

I've had good luck with the MSD's, I ran a set for over 60k on my Jeep. I probably didn't need to replace them either, it ran the same after the new plugs/wires.

Msd is the best wire in my opinion, with tr55s. I would tune for n20 then switch plugs to the tr6. You will run too cold with that plug as was mentioned.
