I need a def. for SAE.
Specifically "SAE corrected numbers from DYNO"
How are the dyno numbers corrected? Do they usually go up or down? or does it depend on temp, elevation etc.?
Asking because I had my car dyno'd at the Bristol Bash to the tune of 315.8RWHP and 334.2RWTQ but have no idea if those are corrected numbers or just raw data..

I have a few questions.. I didn't see anyone explain what some stuff was..

1) What exactly does CAGS do? Why do people hate it so much? Is this the same as SKIPSHIFT? If not, then what's the difference between the two?

2) What is a "LID"? Why does everyone seem obsessed with it/them?

Nonacronym related (but they could help others):
3) Where is the shift light? What RPM range does it kick on at? We recently got a 2001 SS, and I think me and my dad both shift by sound more than the tach or speedometer... we never seemed to get above a certain RPM.. so I imagine that's why it never kicked on.

4) What are the "optimal" shift point... first, for gas mileage... second, for speed?

5) Lastly, the car has the "Theft Deterrant" system.. I imagine it's just a blinking red light, right? Not an actual car-alarm.. but you can activate a siren with the keyring controller, right?

That is all

cags is a comuter gear selector that makes you go from 1st to 4th and pisses everyone off in a hurry. so we delete it with the module.

a lid is the air box cover, we replace it for extra intake volume because the factory one sucks or should i say chokes.

as for the shift lite. there is no factory shift lite

shift a 500 for gas mileage if your going to drive it for gas mileage my buddy has a honda he will trade you . shift at 6000 for real power.

as for the theft system. if you think its only a light, park on pit road and press the lock button on the remote.

why would CAGS make you go from 1st to 4th?

ah. I assumed there was a shift light.. my dad inferred the same thing, by reading what people are saying. meh

and, yeah.. found out about the car alarm, recently. I guess you HAVE to lock the doors for the alarm to kick on?

CAGS is GM's way to help slide around having a gas guzzler tax imposed. During 'light' acceleration it locks 2nd gear out. It allows the cars to get the appropriate minimum gas mileage during the test specified by the government.
