Default LS6 Intake??

How can you determine whether or not your car has the LS6 intake. I know they were only put in some of the cars in 01 and 02, but how do you know for sure? Like mine for instance, is an 01 WS6 but it was built in Sept 2000. Does that mean that it doesn't have it. Please help, b/c I don't want to go and buy a new LS6 intake if I already have one, thanks.

the floor of the manifolds are the only difference. the only way to see it is to take the manifold off the car

just take it out and compare it to a picture of a regular ls1 intake. the ls6 manifolds are rounded at the bottom

You should have one unless someone changed it out. Look for the part number on the drivers side - mine came with 12561184, the number at the time.

An easier way is to just look at the number on the side of it, instead of taking it off to see the bottom..

It is a part number on the driver side, easy to see.

I never noticed how the ls6's runner seem to bulge more on the side that is farthest away from the intake port that its connected to. The runners on the ls1 seem more uniform in width

Easiest way to tell if you have an ls6 intake is to mail it to me and I'll check it out for ya. Might have to install it and send it back to ya too. Don't worry if the #'s are different when you get it back
