alright guys im finally going to get me a set of headers for my ws6, the modifications are on my sig, my question is putting headers on the car will that make the tranny go out, i know the transmisions in my ls1 f-bodies are weak, i dnt hot rod the car i baby it unless i go street race someone around town

what do you guys thinks, do i have anything to worry about?

 

You have to worry simply because you have a 4L60E. Just accept the fact that the 3-4 clutches are weak and move on. Racing from a dig probably will never hurt it, highway rolls where you go from 2-3 a lot are going to burn it out quick if its stock. You have pretty low miles anyways so I wouldn't worry so much.

 

aight man thanks alot, yeah i dont race on the highway alot and if i do i usually leave it in drive im usually easy and baby the car so hopefully i have nothig to worry about

 

I wouldn't baby it too much, but if you bounce the rev limiter on the 2-3 thats a good indication the 3-4 clutch packs are about to bite it.

 

Just put it in drive and go to work.... Its when you start shifting the trans each gear buy hand( from 1-2-D to OD ) your 4L60E will take a dump on you.... O ya and install a trans cooler RIGHT NOW!!!!
