In the winter months your going to get worse mpg becuase most places are getting "winter" blend of fuel. It has a higher content of alcohal which helps keep your tank and fuel lines from freezing. My TA is currently in storage, but I've noticed in my Nissan that I'm averaging 22-23 mpg where as during the summer months I'm getting 26-27.

After the cam I said f mileage...
I was still surprised by what I got, and actually I think with playing with the tune, getting it close to stock levels is possible. I'm running on the rich side just to protect things in the car but I can always lean it out just a bit in the lower rpm strictly for mileage purposes. Who races off <2500rpm anyways?

i get an average of 285miles in the city, and about 430 on the highway trips. My car is an 01 formula with a ls2 in it. It also has a 4l65 trans with a 2800 torque converter. Also has full exhaust, no cats, lid, filter, and all free mods.

I usually get between 13-15 in the city in the summer, with the 3.42's and 4.10's. 30 on the highway. I wouldn't complain about the mileage with a LS1, for the amount of power they make and the way they perform I think the mileage is pretty damn good.

They only way to accurately test MPG is to fill up your tank, reset the tripometer, drive it 'til it's almost empty, then fill it up and divide miles driven by the gallons put in. And just because you've driven 45 miles and you're at 3/4 of a tank doesn't mean you can only drive 180 until empty. Those hash marks aren't an exact science. And besides, American automakers always make the tank bigger than the gas gauge shows. I've driven over 6 miles with my gas gauge comepletely past E, not even touching it, and still made it to the station.

I had gone about 310 miles, which worked out to just over 23mpg.
I can't complain about that, I just wish I could get more range out of it. If I could get 330 miles out of it I'd be happy. I usually don't drive till the light comes on, I like to fill it before that.
A4, 2,73's, BTW.

I drive 3 miles to work one way, mostly thru town at 30 mph, rarely even hitting 45mph,and that's only for a half mile stretch. One thing I've noticed is fuel economy, or lack of it.
Which ever vehicle I drive, DD Buick, winter beater Chevy truck, or TA, will usually get almost half of what the particular vehicle is capable of straight highway driving.
The Buick gets 30 mpg highway, so I can expect 16-17 mpg driving to work.
The truck gets 12 mpg (wow) highway, so I can expect 7 mpg driving to work.
The TA gets 25 mpg highway, so I can expect 14-15 mpg driving to work.
You get the picture. If you are driving your TA to work every day, your fuel mileage will suck. Next time you go on a road trip (highway driving), try tracking your highway mileage. that will give you a better idea of what the car is really capable of.

I get about 24 highway. 2001 m6, H/C, x-pipe dumped, 9" w/ 4.10's, 295/45/17 on back. here is what I do to check gas milage. I fill her up, drive it on the highway 152 miles to san antonio. when I exit I go straight to a gas station and fill her. verify traveled milage and divide the gal with milage. after several times u can add ur miles per gal and divide by how many u got and thats aproximate. like I said I average about 24 miles per gal on the highway, city I get less so I dont check it cause some days my feet are heavier then others, more on weekends then week days. before mods I was getting about 28...

Same thing dude, except mine seems to be worse than everybody's. I drive it normally in the winter months when there's no salt on the ground, and I downshift alot with my loud *** exhaust sounds bad ***, does that affect mileage? Anyways when I first got it I replaced the fuel filter and put in synthetic oil moble 1? and did everything but the plugs. Car is bone stock except for the k&n air filter and flowmaster exhaust and I get about 150-190 miles a tank mostly city driving
I have a 00 SS.
