Okay, this is my newbie question, but I am a newbie, so I'm entitled. I've been looking at 98-02 trans ams for two years and I've noticed the WS6 version usually sells for 2-3k more than the non-WS6. Seems like a high price to pay for an extra 20-25 HP. Yes, the hood looks kick ***, but you can buy one for $400-$700. Still much cheaper. And I think it comes with better exhaust, but don't most people replace that anyhow? Why pay so much more for a WS6?

Unless you got an anniversary edition WS6, Formula WS6 or a Firehawk then IMO you have nothing special. I only mention those three because they are all kind of rare. GM made a bazillion TA WS6's which gave no power increase regardless of what the dealers used to say.
In fact, I kind of like the aftermarket WS6's better because the aftermarket hoods weigh less then the OEM ones. As long as you don't put a WS6 badge on it you're good

I seen an after market hood on a Reg T/A it didnt look right to me, Its too thick under the too hood scoops right near the opening above the front bumper.
Of course i have a real WS6, i was just trying to find any LS1 F-body M6 and this was the only one i could find and **** being able to say WS6 to (normal people) makes up for it having the same engine as a reg T/A. I also think it looks better, but thats just me.
