So ive been warming up my car for nothing? ive always let my car warm up for about 5 minutes, but i have noticed that when i warm it up for like 2 minutes it runs better! But the thing is that when i put in reverse it starts making a weird noise, but when is warm it dosent do it! is something wrong with my car?

I coast my car back into the street, point it in the direction i'm going, start it, floor it until redline, bang it into gear, and bounce off the rev limiter until I have to brake. Something tells me it's not good for it, though. we'll see how long it lasts.

LOL LOLOL That was hilarious

I let mine warm up, one cylinder slaps

Ever since I had my cam installed, i can not just start the car and drive it without it almost stalling out. If I let it run for at least 1-2 minutes before driving, its perfect.

My car gets driven about once a week, if that. I always let it idle for a few minutes before driving. And no high revving shifts until all guages are at operating temps

Well i am one of the few that get in the car and drive it. We don't see too much cold weather down here and I just take it easy till she warms up.

That's what I do.

Cam surges and hunts for idle until the car is a little warmed up. a minute or two is all it takes. Then, we're off!

its a better idea to let it idle before you shut it off just to let the oil and the motor cool off before you shut it down..when i was stationed in japan everyone had a turbo time to delay cutoff turbo or not..but in a turbo car its a must

I just like to make sure the fluids are flowing good and not sitting at the bottom of the pan still before I start putting my engine up on RPM'S...Cold weather or not, when you shut your car off guess where the fluids go to.

I hop in my truck turn the key on, put seat belt on look back through mirrors and windows and pull out of the drive way, i say its about 7 second warm up for my truck. But i also dont roll backwards and shift into drive, i completely stop and shift, and i also drive it super slow when it just starts because you can just feel the engine is cold. I drive like an old man til shes warmed up, but i get on the thru way right before the needle moves to 100, traffic is usually bumper to bumper when i get on there anyways so it warms up with light driving.

Does this thread really needs three pages???

Too much time for warming up is as useless as too long foreplay!! Just get down to business!

Don't need to warm it up. Just don't use the blinker too often while cold.
