Default Is this a good deal?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=51

I went and drove the car about 2 weeks ago. It has a few small scratches but looks pretty good overall. Trans felt good when I shifted and she seemed to run pretty well. The car wasn't detailed, it was actually pretty dirty inside and out.

I know its been on the lot for a few weeks and the carfax checks out ok. The first 26000 miles the owner took it to the dealer for everything, from 26000 to 49000 its a ghost. I guess that owner went to a private garage.

The only thing that turned me off was some rust I noticed on the hood latch and bolts for the airbox. Does that look normal?

Any input is appreciated, I plan on taking a ride up on saturday and maybe buying the car.

I wouldn't pay that much for that car. I would aim to get the price around $12k or so.

What do you mean "bolts for the airbox?" I don't recall there being any bolts on the airbox?

take a look at the pictures, in the picture of the engine compartment there are 2 bolts on either side of the lid holding down the plastic cover.

As far as price goes, I was thinking of 13999 since two weeks ago it was priced at 14999. I guess they decided to raise the price since no one bought it

I'd pass on that car unless they really dropped down on the price.

well a week and a couple days ago i got my SOM 2001 WS6 for 16,500 with 37,010 miles you decide if the one you posted is a good deal. i say stick with what 98-z28-darkness said about the new camaro. if youre going to buy a TA now, buy the best value one you can find, even if you have to drive to buy it. i won one on ebay flew one way and drove it home and saved a ton of money. If you do something like that you'll be more likely to be able to pay it off faster so you can buy the new camaro if thats what you want to do. those things are sick nasty.

Xezekial wat i meant was that many people have those really nice low mile camaros that they love...but once the new camaros come out there gonna need some cash and room for it...
so i thinking there will be many for sale....
hey were you live?

and Xezekial is right look for a nice car and good deal even if its far...even

craisglist.com is the best site to look in...dont know why but in autotrader people think there 98 camaro with 210,000 miles is worth 11k

Way to much for a stock T/A. It's not even a WS-6!! Considering you said the car was very dirty and seemed unkept when you test drove it kinda makes me wonder if the car was hammered on and not maintained. 10K to 11K is all I would offer.

I am sorry, I think many misunderstood me when I said dirty, by dirty I meant not detailed and showroom ready. The car seemed well maintained.

Since everyone is leaning toward no on this one I am open to anyone who is selling or knows of someone selling an M6 Trans Am with under 65000 miles. Stock or Bolt ons only, no N20!

Well it really all comes down to one thing and one thing only, Do you love this car? If you do you should just buy it!! I'm only goin off what I read. Beat the price down as far as you can, thats what I would do.

price is high, you can get a much better deal. i drove over 5 hrs away 3 times before i bought my car. i spent 9k and got a 98 formula
with 60k in immaculate condition. im not saying the car has to be perfect but you just have to know EXACTLY what you want and dont settle for less, trust me its alot easier to make the payments. use all your resources. car lots, craigslist, ebay, auto trader,ls1tech f/s fourm, other f/s fourms on car sites, word of mouth,newspaper... the 4th gen market is not that bad

Looks like a really bad deal to me. I would shoot for 12k with that mileage. Not a dime more.
