Not me...and im glad I didnt. At the age of 17(4 years ago) I took my moms 93 Z28 out for a spirited drive and limped home in it after running it up a curb. I am convinced that if I had a car like my WS6 back then I would have killed myself in it.It only took one fu** up for me to learn not to mess around like that.

Man a lot of 16 year olds with ls1's haha. When I was 17 I got my first car, a 1990 Cougar XR7 with a supercharged 3.8, and **** that thing flew! 315 ft lbs of torque so I didn't have trouble beating a few fox's around town here. I always wanted a camaro though and being that the cougar was a gift, I held off for awhile... eventually I sold it and impulse bought a 93 Z28 when I was 19 it had 160k km's on it, full exhaust and everything, now THAT was a fun car with many problems, too bad i didn't know anything about f bodies at that point. Then last year I got the LS1 itch so I sold the LT1 as fast as I could due to a guy a couple hours away from me selling a supercharged 98 z28, 500hp, full suspension, the works. The day after I sold my LT1 someone bought the 98 , so I waited a few weeks and found a showroom condition 99 SS with 88k km's last summer, a week later I turned 20 and I'm glad I ended up with it.
and here I am

When I was 16 I got my first fbody...a 99 v6 firebird. I really liked that car even tho it was quite possibly the slowest fbody ever. I ended up selling it after driving it for a year and a half...was planning on buying a 99 ls1 formula. I was actually on my way to pick the car up when the stealership called and told me they had to put a new fuel pump in the car and that I could look at it, but not buy it. Well that sucked. I needed a car that weekend, but decided to hold out for the right T/A and I ended up buying a 95 GT for $1500...which my dad drove. About a month later I picked up another mustang...this time a 94 GT for $1200 (which was much nicer than the first one...I actually gave this car to my brother).
I decided to put the 1st mustang up f/s and within a week it was sold for $3000. I looked around online and found my current car, a 96 WS6 that is immaculate. I couldnt be happier with the way things worked out...Basically I sold my v6 firebird, bought my car and my brother a 94 GT.

I got a '69 Camaro SS when I was 14, but it was a project car (still not together ). Just before I turned 16 I got a clean base model 307 '69 that I drove during high school. Since then I've had a '86 Z28, '69 SS 396, '99 Trans Am, and my current '98 Trans Am 'vert (as far as f-bodys go). I just turned 22 today.

I was 14 years old and i owned a 1989 firebird formula for my first car. then it got into a wreck then bought a 1995 v6 Camaro and then got rid of that cause i missed the v8 then at the age of 17 got a 1993 z28 m6 and then got rid of that for a 1994 a4 z28 with a 383. and still with it hoping to sell it. and i am now almost 21. so pretty much my whole life i owned a fbodie and always will and all my kids will drive one to including my wife.

Nope, first vehicle as a 1984 GMC pick up. It had been sitting in my grandpa's yard for almost 6 years when he gave it to me. My parents had planned on getting me a new/er car like they did for my sister when they bought her a new Neon in 04. I ended up wrecking my truck in November of 05 but it was fixable, kept giving me problems and on July 26, 2006 I bought my 2000 Firebird V6.

Ahhh and to think I almost posted in here earlier today. Ok so, heres the deal, I've wanted an SS since I was 10 years old - my grandpa used to have a 75 Camaro drag car that he had all built up and I've always liked camaros. I saved since I was 10 to buy what I always wanted - a fast first car. When the time came to buy a car (few months before I turned 16), of course, my dad pulled the old hypocrite and told me that "a camaro is not a first car", forgetting of course what his first car was. 3 guesses what it was. yep. a camaro. followed by a chevelle, and then another camaro. So anyway, I ended up buying a mazdaspeed protege to quell the need for a moderate amount of speed at least for a while. I kept it in real good shape and didnt beat on it - never got any tickets or got in any accidents or anything despite my moms claims that the car was too fast (mid 15 second quarter mile? way too slow.). So anyway, randomly a month ago, even though I've been shopping for SS's for years now, my dad finally took to the idea. I had the green light from him to buy a camaro, dont know how or why, maybe he felt like a kid again looking at them for me. Dont know. So anyway I've been looking to buy one for like a month now, frantically trying to sell my car (its in really good shape and low mileage, shouldnt be that hard) to get an LS1 F-body before he changed his mind becuase he literally NEVER says that I can get anything until im 2 seconds away from buying it, then he approves, so this sort of behavior was odd for him. today he comes into my room - "you can forget about getting a camaro, your mother and i talked it over and we dont want to see you wrapped around a tree - its too much horsepower and youre very irresponsible." W. T. F. this is seriously like a dream ive had for years. to buy an SS, and he says i can for a MONTH - I've probably looked at 4121052918 F-bodies for sale since he gave the green light - and now he CHANGED HIS MIND? I'm gonna go crawl in a hole. hhahaa, im 17 by the way.
Sparknotes; dad says I'm still too irresponsible for an LS1 even though I've never gotten any tickets or wrecks in my car - how does that make me irresponsible? Who knows. How can I convince him to let me buy one? Its not like he's paying for it, i'm paying cash for it. . . hahahahaaah pleaseeee helppppp, i was soooo closeeee!
oh, and if you know anybody that would want to trade an LS1 f-body for a mazdaspeed protege to save some money on gas let me know - if I can trade and pay cash, or better yet make an even trade, then I can basically just bring it home as a surprise =P
