Trans kickdown cable...
This should be an easy one. All these times ive manually opened the throttle with the TB cam ive never looked at how the trans kickdown cable operated. The black box that clips on to the the TB cam -that holds the kickdown cable...is it suppost to actually "grip" the cable or is it suppost to let the trans cable slip through it as the throttle is opened? I just ported and polished my TB and the car runs fine except that it seems to not downshift as far or as hard as it did before I remove the tb. Any inputs??

if i'm thinking correct (it still to early) taht other cable is for your cruise control, and the other is the one that you are operating with your foot from inside being your accelerator pedal. these transmissions are electronically controled via the PCM. i think it may all be in your head.
good example is go look at your turbo hydro and you notice the cable for the shifter? and near by it it has the kickdown cable from the carb.
now go look at the 60e and notice it only has that shifter cable and a wiring harness on the other side....see what i mean?

Update... The downshift blues was fortunately a fluke. Its fine now and the P/P job seems to have paid off some. I still need to do the bump stop and I'm done.
