Default Car temp jumps when I get on it.

My engine temp guage will jump a little bit when I get up on it. Not much, prolly about a 1/8 of an inch past 210. The fans kick on and it pretty much instantly goes down, I just worry about small stuff. Should I just not sweat the small stuff? Is this something I should look into?

What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Would any other car not get hot if you beat on it? Don't worry about it. Make sure both fans spin and your coolant level is good and your radiator is clean.

You can reprogram the PCM and have the fans kick in sooner. Or you can install a manual over-ride switch turning the fans on when you think the car is running hot. Search on this board, there is a link posted with a diagram. My car before the mods used to do the same thing as yours.

Meh.. the engine is working harder... more energy equals more heat. Dont worry about it. My car will go just a little bit past 210 if I am beating on it.

it's totally normal, it's just that these cars have a linear temp gauge so you notice it more.

i would consider a PCM tune, a colder stat and a coolant flush if you are concerned/
