Default Mods and reliability

Thoughts on mods which have no affect on reliability, drivability or longevity. Narrows the field considerabily but maybe there is something I have overlooked. Thanks in advance.

lid and catback exhaust will actually help your car.
You should get a few more MPG as well as some more HP with a great sound!
i would think that most bolt-on mods only have positive sides to them since
they mostly just free up factory restrictions

My car seems to be just as reliable as the day I bought it. It's never had a problem of any sort (knock on wood!) And as an added bonus, it gets better highway gas mileage than when stock (by a pretty descent margin.) Not bad for a car that runs 11.8s in the 1/4.

Anyway, here's a list of it's mods.

Fast Toys Ram Air
MTI Lid
GMS MAF sensor
Ported TB
NGK TR-6 plugs
QTP 1 3/4" headers and Y-pipe
3" QTP electric cuttout
Lowered the car approximately 1 1.5" by cutting the front springs and removing the rear spring cushions.
LCA relocators
Fikse FM-5 17" wheels
315/35/17 Nitto drag radials
ACPT carbonfiber driveshaft
TCI 3500 converter
TCI shift kit
TCI tranny cooler
LS1 Edit programming
160 degree thermostat
Removed spare tire, jack, and tunnel brace.

Essentially, you can go fairly deep into these engines, and still have a "stock" driveability, reliability and longevity (damn, say that 5 times fast lol). I'd say tho, most of the boltons and free mods, wont negate that "stock" aspect you want too much. But, a lid, catback, maybe some headers, T-stat and just general things like that, wont hurt @ all, and would probably make it *that* much better.

Overall, even w/ a little modification, you shouldnt lose any reliability or anything like that. As long as you treat it right, and dont beat the snot out of it 24/7/365, you will be rewarded greatly.

You could even go so far as a mild heads and cam package like ported LS6 heads and 02 LS6 cam and keep stock reliabilty with a good installer doing the work.

You can go as big as the GM hotcam and have no problems. It uses LS6 springs, lopes hard and drives like stock.
