stall or nitrous???
i've been saving up for stall converter for my car. i've been told that it can drop up to .7 in a quarter mile. but my buddie and i hooked his nitrous up w/ a 100 shot and took our cars on the highway. we both have similar mods except he is an m6 and im an a4. most of the time i will pull him a little till his 4th gear than he will start slowley walking on me. but w/his 100 shot he was gone. so now im starting to think about getting nitrous instead of a stall. im just wondering what some of you guys think would be the better buy. i drive the car mainly on the weekends and go to the track about once a month.

my biggest thing about the stall is that i've heard it is a pain to drive around town. but i have never been in a stalled car before so i dont know how true that is.

I'm doing nitrous because I don't go to the track very much and rarely drive my car...It's cheaper and easier.
What mods are on your car? Our times and dyno numbers are pretty much the same...My car made 330/340, and 12.64

Since you have a bolt-on car, I would definitely recommend the stall, especially if you plan on spending more time at the track. The gains are pretty significant as u know, and if you plan on doing any motor work in the future, its a good supporting mod.

i have a p&p maf & tb, lid, longtubes, o/r y, lm2, ls6 intake, and lca's. yeah i like nitrous cause like said before, its there when i want it. but i know you cant mess with a stalled out auto at the track. that and i've been told i cant get a cam w/out a stall.

That was my problem....I don't want to have to do cam/stall/tune...I rarely race so nitrous would be a cheap and easy fix.... I really want to eventually go with a Procharger...so my reasoning is that nitrous will be easy to put on and remove when that time comes, and it's cheap enough to play around with for a little bit then sell it.

nitrous, putting money on the 60e is pointless, once you start making real power it starts slipping gears or not going into gears at all, then you have to spend big money on GOOD built ones and even then it's a hit or miss deal, go nitrous a th400 tranny and a rear and your good to go till you blow your motor up

I had a stall on my last DD and I probably wont get another one since it is my DD and it shot my gas mileage down to around 11mpg in town and with gas at $4 and no signs of lowering that just dont cut it. My tune might have been off although I was told by a few shops that it was dead on....It probably turned me away from stalled cars for a while unless I could be proved wrong :-/
