Default WOT Pinging

I have a 2000 Z-28 w/six speed (49,000 miles), only mods are ls-1 motorsport air lid & flowmaster cat back. At wot I have pinging & black smoke out of the exhaust.
I am going to order a diablosport predator from rwtd this week, should the gen. program be ok, or should I call to get a program taylor made to my car?

Looking for feedback

Thanks

Hmm, pinging at WOT and black smoke?
Pinging means your running lean at WOT.
Black smoke (although it could mean your rich, but then you would have no pinging), would most likely mean blow by. Have u done a compression check lately? Read your plugs? at worse checked you valvetrain? A busted spring can cause your valve to drop a little and hit your piston. But not to alarm you this is like worst case along with bad cylinder.

I do have that "piston slap" syndrome for about 10 minutes on cold start ups. Will change plugs and check comp. this weekend.

Thanks for teh feedback!!!

Piston slap for 10 minutes? Mine is gone with 10-15 seconds... I was pretty sure it should be over within a minute or 2...as the pistons heat rather quickly
