Default Is my clutch going bad??

So my car has 53K on it and i believe it has a original clutch in it (really soft one compared to my other stock car). Yesterday i decided to do a little performance run in my car and started from first to about 3rd... So when i gun it the car spins rear wheels badly but when i shifted into second the car just revved... i was like wtf, and then shifted into 3rd, same ******* thing happened. Then, thoughts of me fuking up my clutch started going through my head, but when i shifted into 4th, the car started driving fine...

So, time for a new clutch?

+1 Try this first and then you might want to look into a clutch. Especially if you smell it burning after you think it slipped.

I have 84K on the factory clutch (mainly highway driven)... don't get too paranoid/hung up with your mileage.

You can do what the guys above said since it's free and doesn't take too long (normal maintenance on any M6), but it sounds like the cluch is shot to me. Maybe you'll get lucky, though.

I would say ur clutch is shot. To me, if it was only a bleed problem, it would/should grind going in/out of gear. 2nd and 3rd have a lot of TQ going to the clutch and that is why it slipped.

New clutch time. Don't even waste your time bleeding now that its shot (until you get a new one). Do a search for "remote bleeder." Remember to get a new Slave from GM at the same time. The LS7 clutch kit from SDPC is a good choice for a stock-like car. SDPC has the slave too, at probably the best prices. Everything you need right here: http://www.sdparts.com/product/SDLS7...cFlywheel.aspx

^It's a very, very common choice, and t's probably the cheapest too. There is another very common choice, but this isn't a "which clutch is best" thread so I won't go there. There's litterally 1000 of such threads.

This happened to me once.. but never did it again. His clutch may be fine it all depends on if you were beating the **** out of it before you did that run, a shitload of burnouts and such etc that would heat the clutch up to make it slip. It just reved in 2nd for me one time last yr but that was it, im on the original clutch and I can still chirp 3rd if im beating the ***** off it. I have 85k

It will be a great clutch. A little better in every way than the stocker.

the stock clutch will last long if u take care of it! i think u can try this test to see how ur clutch is, go about 2,000 to 2,500 rpm into 5 gear, and go WOT till about 3,500 if ur clutch is on its way out it will slip! btw im still on stock clutch at 85k but dealer changed my clutch disc at 20k
