Default LSx? What is it?

What does the "x" mean when people say LSx? I'm pretty sure it means unknown, like in math. X is unknown untill you solve the problem. So it just means an LS based engine block right? Like LS1, LS2, 6, 7 and so one....

It could mean the Gen 3 and 4 motors. Or it could mean the strongest block to ever come out from GM performance parts. Could be either or just depends on how people use it when there talking.

It depends on the context to which you are speaking.

It actually means both. LSx means ls based motor.
LSX is a brand name.

That's how I take it also.

LSx = Any LS based engine, whether it be LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7, etc etc etc...

LSX = GM's LSX heavy duty iron block, or an engine built using said engine block.

You know that the GM and the GMPP folks took the whole LSx stuff from us.

I believe Comp Cams/FAST should be given credit for coining the term LSX. It's written in big letters on the box and they referenced the word when they originally started the marketing during it's introduction a few years ago.

like every body said, its both LS series based engine and a brand name
i think FAST are the first who use it for their famous LSX intake and then GMPP for their LSX Block

What's a super "string" precision cut block?

Inquiring minds would like to know.
