Burnouts
Hi,
When I do a burnout, the rear of the car steps out left, is this normal??
If so, is there anything I can replace to keep it straight when smokin?
Also what damage could I do by doing burnouts, (Apart from pads / tyres), what might I break?
Thanks for your help,
Paul.

Yeah, it's completely normal for the rearend to slide one way or the other when the tires are spinning.
It slides because of the crown of the road. Mine slides to the right, but since you drive on the wrong side of the road, yours slides left.

the suspension's natural tendency is for the car to kick out to the driver's side. If you examine how the rear's suspension is setup, you'll understand.
To keep it under control, an upgrade of the rear's suspension is in order. Control arms, relocation brackets, torque arm, drag sway bar, pan hard bar will all work towards keeping the car straight.
When my car was stock, it took a lot of steering correction to keep the car straight during a clutch dump. Now after all that, I rarely think about the car going left anymore unless the roads are wet or some ricer left some puddle at the track. It can be quite the shock when due to water the car kicks out.

Thanks for the info guys,
If when pulling away I release the brakes slow, I guess I'm putting less stress on the rear end?
I don't drive on the wrong side of the road, everyone else does!!

It's abuse, it breaks parts. Until you put a semi indestrucatble rear in it, its the same rear that comes in an s10 pickup. DO they put a v8 into the s10 from the factory? Ever here of an s10 dropping the rear at the track? Not enough power thats why. The rear is weak and on the edge of being able to handle an oem ls1. Start throwing more power at it and abusing it and its on borrowed time IMO.

You still getting grip which is shocking it. Only way to avoid it is let off the gas before it grabs. Start getting some wheel hop and it wont take long to break.. or at least mine didnt.

sticky tires will snap your 10 bolt. I put some drag radials on my car and snap goes my rear end. when my broke it was going like 40-50 mph drop it into 2nd and wot. I though rear ends mostly broke when you go from a dead stop to wot.
