Re: need help? It doesn't actually give you more power. It just desensitizes the knock sensors. You need to test your car on some Autotap runs to make sure if you are getting any knock retard first. Then you need to determine if the knock retard is false or real knock. If you are getting real knock and you desensitize your sensors, you can severely damage the engine.
Doing this K-sensor desensitizing mod is ONLY for helping you to regain potential lost power from false knock retard. Not a way to "gain" power, and definitely not recommended if you are getting real knock retard.

Re: need help? Nine Ball, what exactly is Auto tap and how much is it? Im looking to do the same mod. Im pretty sure my KR is killing my power because of my increased compression. Can it be the pinging making the KR retard? Ive never heard the engine knock, but I have heard it ping. My truck is loosing some power in the higher RPMs only, and falling on its face especially in third gear.
