Dumb question...from what I can tell do I have to pull the heads to get to the lifters on the LS? I thought I could get to them under the valley cover. I want to change the lifters. I've got a tick.

I swear every 10 posts this month have to do with the lifters on the LS1's. Mine started ticking too. WTF? Are they that weak? I dont have the money/skills to swap them out!

my brand new ls7 lifters tick like a **** on the passenger side. Sucks......

lol, ls1's are notorious "tickers", my car sounds like a sewing machine too... just cant hear it so well

When I did my Cam swap mine were ticking but after the oil ran through the car it quiet down even more than before.

you sure you got the right length pushrods? i got brand new LS7 lifters with my MS4 and TSP PRC 5.3 2.5's milled to 58 and i cant even hear the valvetrain.

I didn't want to have to pull my heads yet as I wanted to quiet it down. I still need to get parts for my rebuild... I honestly only have a little tick then it goes away and with 180k I guess I'm ok. Just being a little ****. I think it has been rebuilt because it runs SO nice! No leaks, smoke or miss but I baby it just in case. I have yet to go WOT from a stop or any speed.

Besides my post was about removing the lifters not the tick they make...

yup, heads gotta come off,
then the lifters are held in place in trays. not that hard if you alredy have the heads off.
