cant excite alternator

cant excite alternator I have a 98 f-body ls1 out of a camaro and put it into a Jeep CJ used a stock harness that a guy fabbed up for me and runs good and alternator is good but wont charge my battery, I can literaly watch my volt meter drop. I have the big wire back to the battery and have the one red wire plugged in also. Any suggestions or anything.

Should be a small guage wire(brown I believe) in the plug that needs to be connected to ignition switched 12v. If that doesn't work , try showing the alternator some dirty pictures , that might excite it!

Yes you are all right. All I needed was the wire from the alt. to be keyed on and a dummy light in line. tham=nks for all the info. Yes then I showed it some dirty pics of your momma and that excited it too. J
