I used a stubby little ratchet.

For Christmas one year I got some gift certificates at the mall and promptly went to Sears and bought a flex head ratchet, they're also a big help working on these cars, although it wouldn't have helped you much in that situation.

this might just be the ultimate gravedigging!

pull a thread back from forever to say "20 minutes to get it done"

and IMHO - those craftsman ratchet wrenches pictured on the 1st page dont work worth a hell. the ratcheting action is WAY tighter and smoother with the GearWrench brand set that i have

You're saying that you can remove the #8 coil pack bolt from under then car? The #8 plug comes out that way.

I spent 2 hours trying to get that bolt out! Finally gave up went to the store to get a gear wrench, when I came back my g/f hands me the bolt that only took her 2 minutes to get out. Needless to say I never thought I could've thrown a bolt that far!!

You don't need to remove the last bolt, just loosen it a bit and leave it loose.

The next time you change your plugs you only need to remove the front coil pack bolts and then you can pivot the coil pack rail out of the way with the last bolt still in place.

When your done you swing it back and it's dead simple to get back in place. You put the first coil pack bolt back in and the rest are lined up and a piece of cake.
