Service engine light

My service engine light is on and I want to get the code read. You used to be able to rent the device from Autozone and scan it, but I just called them and they said they don't do that anymore. What do you guys think I should do?

I have had my check engine light come on so many times now i just let it stay on and it usually turns off in a few days. Knock on wood it hasent come on in a while.

They never did that around here, they have always read the code for you when you take the car there and they still do, here anyway.

yeah just take the car up there or a auto shop around the area and they should be able to read the code. Ill bet money its for something stupid tho so dont worrry to much

I'm pretty sure you can go to autozone, and ask them to scan the car for you. An employee will come out with you and scan the car for you and tell you what is wrong. They wont delete the codes tho.. its like against their policy now. But at least you will know what the check engine light is on for.
