370 hp?? I was just curious if there was ever a factory 370hp edition made in 2001 or 2002 on a trans-am. I know someone that has a trans-am that says that below the drivers side tail light but i dont know if it is a sticker or what. He is telling everyone that it is factory 370hp.

Re: 370 hp?? I don't know of special editions. However some LS1 in 02 came with LS6 heads and that could bump the Hp rating to around that # I would imagine.Of course we are talking fwhp.
Re: 370 hp?? If the car dyno'd at 315rwhp stock, which is possible, and he assumed 15% drivetrain loss, assuming it's an automatic, then one could within reason guess that the motor was putting out 370hp at the flywheel. Anyhow, the sticker is his own addition or fabrication.

Mine dynoed at 380 hp at the flywheel...323 rwhp with a lid and a catback.It doesn't have a ram air hood either 
Oh yeah, as for the topic of this thread....taken literally it could be a factory 370, it just depends on how you word it whether or not he is "truthfull". If it made 315 rwhp it is a factory 370 b/c it made that. Though it's nothing more than every other one out there as far as parts go, just depends on how you look at it. A lot of people don't seem to realize how much our LS1's make stock.

Re: 370 hp?? gmmg inc built some hi performance f-bodys for berger, tom henry & dale earnhardt that were sold on the showroom floor with factory warrantys, that had the hp rating on the rear left & on the hood scoop. the most common was the 380 hp, check it out @ http://www.gmmginc.net/

Re: 370 hp?? There are ones from gmmg that came with ls6 heads on the ls1 block. They make 425hp you can check out the site, they have all the info on them. I was thinking of getting a 02 Tom Henry ss, with 380hp but the dammed thing was 40K. I mean geeze. I think he still has it up their if anyone is interested in checking it out, you can get their info from gmmg

Re: 370 hp?? This guy sounds like this dumb hick I saw in this video. His hood was up, and was taking to this guy with a camera (a LS1 owner himself). He told the guy he had a C5-R racing engine, a turbocharger, and a supercharger, and some artificial part the man with the camera asked if he had for the hell of it. He said he had it. While the whole thing was going on the camera guy had the camera going back and forth from the engine to the hick. The engine was obviously a 100% non turbo or supercharged non C5-R racing engine car. One of the funiest things I have ever seen.

Re: 370 hp?? ive seen one better, in a video called Mischief 3000(a documentary on Gumball 3000) they go to a car show. they see this guy that has a Mustang GT and in the back window he has this huge sticker "GT-R", so Dustin(the guy workin the camera goes up and asks this guy wut kinda engine is in it and the guy says the factory one and Dustin say "So, it's a ROTARY engine" and this guys like ya, ya, and its got a turbo and NOS and all that stuff, "It's fast, fast man" it was so funny cuz this guy had NO FRIGGIN clue about cars!!!

No there is no sticker but he wasn't lying about having 370 hp. LS1's are underrated by the factory and put out anywhere from 360 - 380 at the crank.
