Just a question
So i just got an 01 z-28 with an a4 and it already has plenty of pep. I had an 04 sunfire and then an 07 G5 before i got this car and I am happy that i finally got a car like i have been wanting. I am so tired of 4 cylinders. Sorry, anyway, I have modified them and am about to start work on this one. I was just wondering, i know intake and exhaust, but i want to get my car into the twelves and maintain it as a daily driver. I was just wanting some advice from the guys who know something about them. I am in a whole new realm of car crazyiness now and I am digging it.

12's... if thats all your wanting just headers, off road y pipe, a tune, underdrive pully and some drag radials... and your there and thats hardly far from stock, so drivibility wouldnt be affected.

Well to be honest I would like to get it into mid to low twelves. I have a friend on here that is in my car club who has an ss and his is a low 12 second car. I would like to be able to at least keep up with him. I don't have to be the fastest but i want my car to move and let me know that it is doing so.

ok, well you'll also want a stall (3400 and higher) since your an A4, and some gears (seems 3.73's are most common for autos) and to top it off a 100 shot and you'll outrun him.

I appreciate that malibu. Here is my list of proposed mods and plz let me know what you think. SLP Lid SLP MAF 85mm tb ls6 intake manifold SLP Headers with a catted Y and an slp loudmouth 2 catback obviously better tires cuz it has kumhos on it now and i slide all over the place. Do you think i should do it in any order or just get them as i go or does it matter? Sorry to ask so many questions im just new at the whole LS1 thing im used to 2.2 ecotecs but i enjoy this one much more.

Good call with the LS6 intake.
Yes, I have the old SLP's and they are LOW!
I believe that the newer style might have a little more clearance.

ive heard the MAF wont net you much if any hp, unless your making gobbs of power. also if you have a 2001, you already have a ls6 intake. and slp headers supposedly have clearance issues (i cant testify since ive never owned any) and it really doesnt matter which order you go in, but id do stall and headers first, since those will be the two you notice the most. and dont forget a tune, some people net a good 25 hp from a tune after simple bolt ons.

dont change ur maf, the stock one can hold over 500hp, plus u whould have to get an aftermarket maf tuned....slp's old header design had bad clearance issues, but they re-designed them and they are very nice, and fit alot better
