Electrical Problem??
Electrical Problem?? I'm having some weird problems with my '00 TA.
The gauges are all fluctuating and going crazy and all the TCS off, service vehicle, oil change, brake etc. lights are coming on and off.
The car also resets itself randomly and has to relearn the idle.
When the car is running normally, the voltage gauge is at the beginning of the orange marks under 13 and the oil pressure is below 20.
What in the world could be causing this?
Alternator?
I replaced the positive cable running from the starter, alternator to the battery thinking it had something to do with it but it's still the same.
All the other connections are fine..(grounds)
Please help

i had this problem before i forget on what kind of car, but it was like you said, all the lights went on and off...the radio would go crazy, all that great stuff, and it was the alternator, so i would agree with you. good luck
do you remember how long it acted like that before it died?
My car has been doing this for at least a month, but I have not been driving it at all, just an occasional "turn on and off" thing.

I did that already but those tests are so inaccurate. It said my alternator wasn't putting out anything yet the car is still working 5 days later. I think they can test it more accurately if I take off the alternator. Hopefully that's the problem and not something else.
