Specifically I was referring to the fact that the hood accepts air after the air filter. The air then literally makes a 180 and heads back forward, then another 180 to go back the right way and then its not even sealed to the air box. By the time the air makes a 360 and has traveled several feet there is no way it has any useful velocity.

you get even more air from Free ram air mod . I saw a test a while back they put a sensor in the lid to show how much air was coming threw and and the free mod gave the most air! The air dam is basicly a high air scoop. Mine has even double that now that the AC condenser is out.

These cars are designed to take air in from the bottom anyways, the way the aerodynamics work you'd be better off with a cowl induction hood than a scoop type. Not that it really matters. I've gone on runs on the interstate after washing the car, and if you watch real closely, the water left on the hood barely moves.
I find it a bit ironic that I opened up the vent/scoops on my LT1 hood.
This is in support of the FRA mod, of course.

An independent study showed that ALL "ram air intakes" are really just "cold air intakes" because in order to get enough air pressure to make a "forced induction" claim you would have to be going HUNDREDS of miles per hour. Effective on planes though.

Whether ram air or a cowl hood for that matter really works doesnt really matter in essence, its kind of the idea thats cool, and it goes hand in hand with fast cars. So thumbs up from me, even if the shitty engineers didn't get it right

If we could get everyone together their would be an excellent Fbody scene here. The quantity is here, but like I said its hard to get everyone together. If I'm off I'm all about hangin out or gettin together to go eat, cruise, take pics or whatever. Not into the racing stuff unless it's at the track or in MY mexico. I have too much to lose IF I get caught.

Anybody interested in a buying a carbon fiber SS hood? It's in good shape and isfunctional if you cut it. I'll take $350 and your hood. It's really light if weight is a factor for you. Not sure of exact weight but you can hold it over your head with one hand like a pizza box.
This is the only pic I have of it and it's dirty. If weather permits I'll get a better pic asap. I'm available this weekend if you wanna look at it also.
