Default Leaky Heater Switch

Out for an afternoon romp, bottle is mounted on the hump between the back seats, and a hissing sound, and frost around the heater thermostat switch.. Tightened it to no avail, I assume the internal diaphragm is leaking? Wierd! Only the 4th bottle of nitrous on this system-wich has worked excellent for 3 yrs, car is not a daily driver, nor will it ever be... Any one else come across this occurence?

Can you determine where on the switch its leaking? Did you use any sealer on the threads?

I installed this system about 2 years ago, and yes I did use teflon tape on the threads.. I was told today that it is not an NPT type of fitting, but a 1/2''-20 thread. Should I install it without tape? Seems funny that it never leaked in the last 2 years.. I think its coming from the housing. Any help would be appreciated!

mine leaks too, but it doesn't hiss or anything. very slow leak. it would just get cold and wet. this is after a lot of wear - taking it off, putting it back on, moving it around, etc. not exactly sure where it started leaking from, but removing it and adding more sealant didn't help.

Yeah, that's about what mine is doing.. I just took it off, I don't think it ever was adjusted correctly anyway, if I left the heater on for more than 15 minutes, gauge would read 1200 psi, I have been told 950-1000 is optimal for a 125 wet shot single nozzle little guy setup..

Yes over time they do take a beating. The ones we use are a 1/8NPT so it does require paste on it, unless its a different mfg. But if its leaking internally its time for a new one. Sorry.
