this is a common practice. If you are doing it because you are tying to hide it, ok. but if its a track car, just get a purge. The ONLY reason you would want to purge into the motor is for a hidden kit. Otherwise its pointless.

It gets used for both.. I don't like the idea of making it public knowledge on the street. The hood does not get lifted

I purge through the motor. I do it because it not only purges the nitrous system, it purges the fuel system too. I beleive its necessary to get the best results. I don't have a purge valve...... but the only reason I would have one would be to put on a show.

I just dont recommend it cause its a pain on the motor but if its a race car what do you care if you blow it up every now and then.

What parts get hurt fast doing this? Is it safer with smaller shots (75-150 for example)??

I used to purge into the motor. BIG name racers do it as well. You just give it a little tap, tap, tap-a-roo...not a big amount of spray/fuel.

So is it any worse than spraying the whole 1/4 mile? I would think it is less harmful due to no load.. Am I wrong?

It would be purging N20 and Fuel through the TNT power ring just as if you were spraying. Wire a push button directly to the WOT switch.

I purge my motor through the intake, its the only way I purge.

Arm the nitrous, bring rpms to 3500 then press the purge button keeping your foot in the same place
on the gass pedal. I usually do this procedure twice before I stage.

Are you guys talking about purging with a seperate button controlling a "purge" solenoid or activating the n2o as you would going down the track? If you are spraying into the motor fuel and n2o, I can't imagine it being hard on parts....If you are purging straight n2o into the motor with no fuel it will be hard on parts.

I mean that I engage the nitrous system, spraying fuel and nitrous into the intake.

I don't see it beinge hard on parts really..... unless you spray it above 5,000 rpm.
