Finally a manifold that will make power and fit EASILY under the hood of my old (1935) sedan. I guess that is one of the few adavantages I have over you F-body guys. I might be selling my single plane manifold now.

You know, Robert, after looking at the C5, you may have some issues also. There's a pic of a considerably shorter sheetmetal intake on a C5 in the FI section that looks to have a slight amount of cowl issues.

Robert knows how to swing a hammer. Should make for quick work of the fiberglass.

Here is a picture of my old sheetmetal intake... it was fairly close to the cowl. I dont think there is much chance of this intake fitting an F-body since it looks to be a LOT taller that my old sheetmetal..

The Pro-Flo XT intake will not clear the hood. We are currently spec'ing all of our new Xt intakes and will have the height measurments on edelbrock.com and in the 2009 catalog.

Also, we posted this video some time ago. This was the first rapid prototype on a very mild 346ci motor (Edelbrock heads with GT2-3 cam). This intake is for real. We haven't tapped out it's top-end potential yet. http://www.edelbrocktv.com/video/7194

Thanks for posting up, we certainly appreciate it. Most people running this intake shouldnt have a problem getting a hood tall enough for it to clear. I think the general worry is more about the cowl on the Fbody. A lot of us, myself included run the vic jr with an elblow which typically requires minor cutting of the cowl. This intake is really tall in the back so it appears it would take some major cutting.

It looks like a really nice piece and i would def. be interested.

The vic jr with an elbow from intakeelbows.com only required a notch in the lip of the cowl of about 3/4-1 inch as shown below. As i understand it, the edelbrock elbow on the vic jr should clear the cowl.

Considering how my low my engine sits in my 48 this intake if it delivers what is said would look awsum, would also give it some old school look as well.

That intake is going to suck, its not even composite! Haven't any of you guys ever heard of heat soak!

Theres a thread about this in the external engine forum and supposedly it will fit without any cutting. Thats just what i read in the other section though.

Do you work for Edelbrock directly? If so, and if you have conact with Vic, tell him to send Robert the egine room mechanic on his boat one, and he'll have it all over the internet in a week. It will be a nice replacement for the Vic jr I have now.

Looks like there's quite a bit of plenum aft of the rear runners. You might be fuct. You can send it to me if it doesn't fit. I could really care less about cutting my junk up.

I went and looked and we have a nice 1 1/2" before we wood need to cut into the cowl past the rubber seal. So it looks as though it will fit and def cut less than the F-Bodies. I hope I can get one soon?

Hmmmmm. I'll fix the cowl problem with a saw, send it away to get ported, and have it smoothed out and airbrushed. Sign me up.

Who's an Edelbrock distributor on this site?
