Nitrous or turbo
If your building a 402 would you have to do anything different, such as larger ring gaps bigger ringlands, different cam to go with the nitrous, or can you just build a nice forged NA motor? I was kinda told that if I planned to run a 100 shot, I should build a"nitrous" motor", or using nitrous would damge the motor. I only plan on using it when I go to the track and that's only about 4 times a year.
IMO i dont think you'd have to build your motor based on a 100 shot, I just think of it this way, my motor is a stock internal LS1 i've been running a 150shot for about a year now...im pretty ****** sure GM didnt build these motors to run on nitrous but a lot of ppl do and it runs like a mother ****** haha. A stock motor thats a beast on nitrous? Dont think that was planned, just build the nice forged motor you want and slap some juice on it!

Now if your building a motor anyway, you could loosen up the ring gaps for a 200 hit, or what ever hit and add some studs for the heads. Best is to talk to your engine builder and tell him exactly what you intend to do. Same with a cam, a dedicated nitrous cam for small hits is not needed. However, if your having a cam spec'ed anyway, have them add a little duration and lift on the exhaust side for a more nitrous friendly cam. So bottom line, unless your approaching the over 200 hit, build your motor for your n/a goals and purposes with the knowledge that you can add or take away a little here and there to make a great street/strip Hot-Rod. Hope this clarifies some of the fine points.
Now if your buiding an all out 300 shot drag strip only motor, the above insight will not be perfect, but still can apply somewhat.

M6 Is Right Under 15k.
Counting all the other things you need to make use of the power will surely up the price to 20-30k sure, but even if you buy those parts using an N20 Setup it's still not as much as the Turbo.
You Have To Dump 13,500 into Beefing Up the REST of the car before You Equal the price of The Turbo.
