Hight of the mother bottle does not matter. its based off of pressure equilization. You just want to make sure the orientation of the bottles is right for the dip tubes. the freezing of the small bottle makes the pressure go down. the room tempature mother bottle will stay around 700-900 or so.it will even them out. We have not used a fill station in a while a water/ice bath chills the small bottles fast.

Were buying it at ~ $250/75lbs
