Default My Nitrous Build

I recently purchased a used NOS 5168 KIT(i believe). I plan on hitting it with either a 125 or 150 shot. The kit i have lacks a few parts.

Current perfomance modifications:

-Precision Race Components 200cc Ported Small Runner TRMIN8R Cylinder Heads. Fully CNC ported
-PRC Double Valve Springs .660" Lift
-Texas Speed Magic Stick 3 Camshaft 237/242, .603"/.609" WITH 112 LSA
-Texas Speed & Performance Chromemoly Pushrods
-TSP Ported LS6 Oil Pump
-F.A.S.T. 36 lb. Fuel Injectors, Emissions-Legal
-LS6 intake manifold
-Thunder racing Billet aluminum MAF ends
- Ported & Polished Throttle body
-Whisper carbon fiber intake lid with k&n filter
-Pacesetter Ceramic Coated Long Tube headers
-Texas Speed & Performance true daul x pipe with dynomax bullet mufflers
-Custom exhaust ran out the back with Dual Dual Corsa tips
-TR6 spark plugs
-GM LS2 Timing Set
-Custom Dyno tuned by Texas Speed And Performance

Parts lacking on the kit that i've noticed so far:

- Jets
- Micro Switch and bracket

Parts already purchased:

- Big show purge
- Zex bottle heater

Parts i need to purchase:

- Walbro 255 w/hot wire kit
- Nitrous filter
- Window Switch
- FPSS
- NOS 5168 Jets
- Micro switch w/bracket

How does this setup look to you guys with my current build. What am i lacking? Will there be enough fuel? Also what size of hit would you recommend 125 or 150? I plan on getting this kit done by next month and driving to TSP to dyno tune it on the bottle. Thanks for any input.

This car is a weekend car. I will only hit it occasionaly @ the track(since i won't meet nhra requirements). A one and done deal. But i will hit it more outside the strip. I would like to get as much out of it n/a as possible. But i know pulling timing for the nitrous tune will kind of hurt me there. So what are my options there as well. As far as timing *****. Im not looking to spend to much cause i'ld like to get a 9" rear(and those are pricey) Thanks for any input guys

Another question pertaining timing tuner. I read that this tuner has a built in window switch. Is it recommended to use this feature(2 for 1) over running a seperate window switch and timing controller?

You could really go either way. What separate units were you thinking about running?

I was going to run a digital window switch and just run off my nitrous tune from texas speed. But i'ld like to get all that i can from my n/a tune. But i ran up on a deal on this Timing tuner. And i read that it has a built in window switch. I just want to know if people who use the timing tuner use that 2nd option(window switch.) And if its as good as any other window switch out there. Cause if it is i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak, and buy this timing tuner.

My only concern is not being able to lock out 1st gear. I would love to get the most out of it n/a as possible. So im turned on to the timing tuner. But spraying out of the whole, how does it effect you guys as far as traction or anyother factor. Positive or negative?

Another option available would be the MicroEDGE/Interface combo. That way you can pull a few degrees of timing, lock out first gear and have the protection of a window switch, tps, and a/f shut down.

You are on track. The timming tuner will give you both the windowswitch and timming controller in one. Since the timming tunner works off the crank sensor it is a reliable method of pulling timming..

You look like you have a pretty good grasp on what parts you need. I did not see spark plugs so I will throw that out there.

Do any of you nitrous guru's know how to lock out the first gear using the Timing Tuner? I don't want to spray out of the hole. I'ld rather it come on at 3000 rpms in 2nd gear.

You will need to add a delay box. Or if you have a six Speed you can add a wot switch that will kill the contact while you are in 1st gear.

Thanks Nick. I pm'd him.

I was wondering if someone can draw me up a wire diagram. I'm not to good with wiring so any help would help. I will be running a wot switch, fpss, timing tuner, bottle heater, and purge. The kit im running is a nos 5168 wet plate kit. The bottle will be mounted on the tranny hump so manual opening of the valve. Thank you
