Im wanting to do a 225-250 shot on my 370 once I get everything together. I cant decide wether to do a 2 stage or go to a progressive controller. it will be on a 4150 plate.. open to opinions
All depends. If you plan on running at the track use a progressive system that way you can hook it at the track. The bad thing with progressive systems is I hear that they are hard on solenoids. If you go with a 2 stage it is easier to sand bag in a street race. You can use the small shot to hold off a nobody then use the bigger shot to hold off somebody whose got a lil work in their car and last use all you got if you are running against a real contender.
My buddy has a 69 nova on a 2 stage system. 200 plate shot and a 300 fogger shot. He would spray the plate and just make sure to stay a car length ahead but if he needed more he would switch to the fogger. If he had somebody that was running hard he would spray both stages for a total of 500 on the car.
Man I got my nos mini from dave at NITRO DAVEs has a 2 stage and a progressive. I have done a 100 first and a 100 2nd stage. or just put the 200 shot in the first stage and start out at 70% prog. up to a 100% in 2.5 sec. The reason I did this was on my old set up I was talking to the guys @DAVES and we came to the conclusion that I was blowing thru the converter doing 2 stages so I went with one stage and prog. Im happy with it you should check it out. Has alot of options and easy to learn.
2 stage = better mph and most of the time better et .
Progressives are great for bracket racing and unprepped tracks .
Launch on the 100 and grab the 150 if theres no tire spin .
