Default 6.0 iron block do's and dont's

Hello, Im new to this place and the LS motors. Im going to build a 6.0 iron block motor and looking for around 650-700hp and going to spray the motor also. Does anyone have and do's or dont's that I should know about before the build and parts start coming. Thanks

DO be specific on what you need, and DON'T be vague...

What size shot are you building the motor for?
Are you going intake or carb style?

Here is what i know so far Im going with the L92 heads, eagle crank and good set of rods dont know what kind yet. I want to spray about 200-300 with a big shot plate the motor will be carburated. I guess im just looking for the things that I should not do....Like for instance go with a stock head gasket which I would not do but the little tricks like that. Or keep the stock main caps will they hold up to the hp. Like I said im new to building one of these and just looking for a little input that people have done that didnt work or should avoid.

Thanks,
Rob

OK this is what I have in my motor built for a 300 shot.
callies rods
diamond pistons -2cc rings gapped for a 300
arp head studs, arp main studs, arp rod bolts
melling oil pump ported
double rollar timing chain
patriot stage 3 heads prof. ported and guted by eagle maching shop
Fast ported intake NW T.B.
cam motion custom grind cam
yella terra rockers
trick flow pushrods
stock crank with block bored 030 over makes a 370.
ls7 lifters I think thats it hope that helps
If you do l92 heads you have to get a custom grind cam you cant just throw a off the shelf cam. its the way the spilt has to be in the cam check into that. Or a cam designed for l92 heads you want a 11-1 or 12-1 compression motor for nitrous thats running 94 in the tank if you go higher then 12-1 you are going to have to run a higher octane.

Stock GM 6L MLS gaskets and 3 coats of copper spray is what i run with ARP studs @ 85lbs torque.

Like DNK said , research the h/cam combo .
