ring gap for 250 shot
I'm putting my forged 347 back together and I'm ready to gap the rings and just need a little double checking
The pistons and rings are both made by mahle they're flat tops with valve reliefs
I'm going to be spraying a 250 direct port on it and I called mahle and the man said I should gap the top one at .030 and the second one at .023 does that sound about right? I trust the guy just wana make sure
Thanks for any help

If the second ring gap is smaller, it can result in getting gasses stuck between the rings. The engine will actually make a little more power with a larger second ring gap. I do mine about double of what the top ring gap is, but really anything larger than the top will be fine.
