Who has actually killed an engine with spray?
Ive got about 15 bottles through my engine so far granted i recently had the longblock rebuilt but to stock OEM spec's the motor absolutly loves the 75 wet shot! Colder plug's"103's" window switch and WOT switch and your good to go!
Here is a noodle scratcher, I had at least 200 bottles through my 3.8 V6, generally over 150. It's all in tuning/fueling. My LS1 Formula lived through plenty of bottles as well, and is still alive and kicking over 5 years later!
I have been running n20 Big shot plate on my 502 chevy at 400 hp of nitrous from trans brake green light to end of 1/4 mile run high 8's well over 180 passes on n20. No problem's with a crate GM motor. Can't wait to get my ls-1 up to 200hp!!!
I have run 2 diffrent nitrous set ups on my stock bottom and with over 100 passes (20 or more on spray) and 101,000 miles she is still running strong with a TTI turbo set up now. I am considering adding a small shot to the car again to aid the little baby turbo that i should have upgraded to start with
I don't care what you think you know or what you do know, you are wrong on this. Listen and learn or keep your head up your *** and argue with people who obviously know more than you on this subject.
Good luck with the basket weaving.
the only reason my motor blew was because i lost oil pressure while spraying and had a bad cam. ended up collapsing a lifter and messing up the crank as well. was on a wet 125. built motor now on a direct port 200. all is well ha ha

Good luck with the basket weaving.[/QUOTE]Look when your Procharged blown vehicle needs a rebuild hold on to the rod bearings
Then compare them to your car that's on the juice. You'll see for yourself.
For crying out loud, no one on here is looking at what the hell I said, I said I thought ( meaning it was my opinion) it was probably the NUMBER 3 killer of engines. So all you guys that have 12 million passes with 500hp shots on your bone stock LS1 with 400, 000 mile, it's completely irrelevant.
As for the blowers, they just don't start out at full boost. I seem to remember my needle on my boost gauge gradually going up, it didn’t just jump up to 11. Same with a turbo. They don't increase cylinder pressure instantly. That is unless you foot brake it to like 4000 before you launch.
What would you suppose the #3 killer is of a nitrous driven car. broken rings? melted pistons? snapped crank?
I'd like to see one of the nitrous vendors on here like Harris Speed or Nitrous Outlet say that nitrous isn't hard on the bearings.

driftpin: its funny you need to hear it from a vendor rather than listen to the few guys who already replied and are and have been running 8's and low 9's consistantly for a long time now. In the end it is what it is tho........
i had nitrous on my cavalier for 2 years before i burned a hole the size of a quarter in piston 1. mostly a 50 shot. i figured it was going to happen sooner or later. engine had over 100,000 miles and over 200 passes on nitrous. i still have the kit. been debating on to install it on the camaro

Wow, you're just thick headed. POWER IS POWER. A 600 HP nitrous motor is no harder on bearings than a 600 HP N/A motor. Bearing wear or damage (as has been said numerous times here) is caused by improper machining and setup or oiling issues, assuming of course you aren't trying to make 10,000 HP on a stock crank that flexes too much. If you think an extra 100-200-300 HP is enough to push a rod hard enough to remove the oil film from the bearings you're an idiot....but I guess we've already established that.
Like I said, shut up and learn or just keep insisting you're right. You're entitled to your opinion of what kills engines, however people (with experience, unlike you) are trying to tell you your "opinion" is wrong. Your argument is like me saying "Its my opinion that the sky is bright green and my grass is orange". You really can't have an opinion on something fact-based. If you wanna argue that pizza is better than spaghetti, then your opinion cannot be argued.
Am I being clear?
So when you built you 8 second nitrous car you installed stock bearings right?
