Default Beer Panel Mount question

Hey guys,

I control my N2O setup from a "Beer" panel mouted below the radio (pic below). Since I wasn't able to get the cigarette lighter out without tearing it apart, I figured the best way to mount the panel was a velcro setup....that would allow me access to the back of the panel in case I ever need to make a wiring adjustment, etc.

The velcro plan worked well for a while however in the Atlanta heat the glue on the back of the velcro fails before the velcro will separate. Anyone else have any ideas about how to mount the panel? I've considered the 3M two sided tape, however I'm not a big fan of tearing that apart every time I need to get to the back of the panel.

Thanks!

try to just do one small piece of 3M on the top.. i mean its not like there is any force being put on it..

i put 3M all the way around mine, but wasnt worried about taking it off..

you could also put two ITTY BITTY screws in the corner/corners... i did this on one of my old panels and it worked out pretty good actually.. just get black so they arent visible and away from the edge a bit so you dont crack the panel.

You have an early lighter, the diameter is different. the later lighters have the plastic trim ring. Two options. One go to the GM dealer (or junkyard) and get the newer style lighter (2000-02 I think), or shoot me a PM with the diameter of the lighter you got and I will make a new panel for you (have to be end of July when I am home next).

Super glue the Velcro to the two pieces so you know it would not go anywhere no mater how hot it got, and then you would still be able to use the Velcro...
