Default Great Nitrous tuner needed...

I'm looking for a great tuner in the south who will actually take the time to pull plugs, change jets dozens of times, flow and adjust standalone pressures, experiment with plugs (need a plug that will daily drive and be able to do up to a 300 shot), and experiment with na timing before moving to the nitrous tune. Some one who will make every effort for a safe tune no matter how long it takes...I also need a switch to pull timing for second stage through efi live...

Going to be a forged 346 with 2 kits on a dual window switch and stand-alone

There is a wideband in car

Car is going to be a roll race vehicle

Has to be able to do a single shot on close to stock timing with c16 in the stand-alone

also need a little drivability tuning....

Car needs to idle well and drive close to stock on a plug that will atleast support a 250 shot... Cam in the 230's at .050ths

Who do you recommend?

you want to run a 250 shot on stock timming? FYI timming cannot be crutched with gas,or fuel it is what it is....

stock timing on first stage only even if it's only a 100 shot (but hoping for a little more only if it's safe to do so on my combo), second stage will pull timing on a switch through efi live...I basically need to be able to drive the car around and make decent power NA with close to stock timing...

Have you already purchesed COS5? All you have to do is wire it into the second stage arm switch.

+1 on RPM

I like the LPE timming/2step device . lets you have a driving on an N/A tune then pulls timming as needed of a dial selector. i think hsw has something also that will do it for multiple stages. and of corse COS5....

RPM in NC would probably be the closest to you. They have some pretty fast nitrous cars.

On another note, you're seriously over estimating the requirements for setting the car up for a 200-300. Most good LS shops/tuners could have you ready to go in a day.

And most of them don't know **** about nitrous. theres no way your dialing in a 300 shot on a dyno in a day...... You will need to fix that tune "dyno tune" at the track more than likely.... and i guess your goiung to hit your "300 shot" tune in august at 100* and december at 30* and it will be fine....

I'm just real picky when it comes to my vehicles, and have had alot of bad experiences with tuners... guess I need to suck it up one day and learn to do it myself...

Seriously if i lean out in different weather then I'll need to save multiple tunes and or do jet changes, not a real problem...tuning on the street will be a requirement...

And if you're so good at it send me a quote...it may be worth the drive...

Shiznity knows his **** when it comes to nitrous. I wish there was a tuner around here that was like him and pulled plugs and made changes based on them.

Never said i was "that good" I was actually aiming my comments at tarzan not you. I think your good for asking for recomendations on good tuners. We charge $300 a day all day for us to go to the track with you. you bring your own nitrous, gas, plugs( or pay us for them). We can and usually bring our trailor with our tools and stuff . I don't nitrous tune on the street( not worth the ticket) but once were done your tune would be good for it.

my point about weather is you will need a few tunning session in different weather to get it dialed in. The micro edge is pretty good for the most part at helping you adjust minor things. make sure you always have a w/b and plenty of plugs...

I couldnt agree more. You can "dial in" nitrous on the dyno but to really start making some power you have to be able to read plugs at the track.

I can't help but think we have many more wide-open roads down here...

Thanks for all the help RPM seems like the people to go to and 300 dollars a day for pretty much a pit crew of people who have done it before it a deal! Wish you were closer...

When looking to spray as much as 300 hp you are going to have to have different plugs for a N/A driving and what plug you need to be using on a 300 shot. You could keep the same plugs in that you will need on a 300 shot but they will faul alot easier than a hotter plug.

Facts are everyone that has never succefully done a 300 shot talk like it is a cake walk to tune in and every combo can handle it. There is actually alot more knowledge needed when tunning in a shot the size of 300 or more compared to a 150.

I aggree that Ryans Performance would be a good choice for you to call.

My only response is this.....Where the above statement is true, I wouldn't lump them in as a quality LS1 tuner/shop. Fair enough?
