We were going to do this on my brother's '98 but when we dug into it, I didn't see an easy way to make the mount on his so we put it in the T-top area. I'm in for pics too since i'm curious where people mount it on the fender side.

Usually when you see pics, there's always a bottle mounted so you can't see how they mounted it to the fender side.

Have you taken a look at the 869 mount? It's like 50 bucks and bolts right in.

I'm too cheap to spend $50 on a simple piece of metal.

I'll take one tomorrow. It's just 90'ed at the other end and screwed on.

That will be good. I'll probably do it the same way you did. How thick is the metal you used?

I just finished building mine. I don't have any fabricating skill, but I still made my bottle mount. It is very easy. I just bought a piece of scrap angle aluminum and bolted it to the antenna bracket. Then bolted a sheet of aluminum across the spare tire area to the angle aluminum. Very light, and it cost $8.

I need to make mine, but I thought about just putting it on the tunnel in the back seat. But I cant be too stealth with that.

I was gonna put mine between the rear seats but a cop told me if it's mounted and within reach, it's illegal. Don't know if that's true for here or any state but i'm not gonna risk it.
